Traditionally made from sheep hair–with goat hair added for strenghth and sometimes camel hair for color–Bedouin carpets were made into a wide range of products, including tents, carpets, blankets, and camel saddle bags. Udjet Eye or Right Eye of Horus:
The right Eye of the heroic Falcon warrior Horus or Heru (where the word "hero" is derived) is a powerful amulet possessing the attributes of the sun Neter (God) Amun Ra. Sometimes the symbol of the cobra rests against the eye implying the Third Eye Chakra, representing intuition or inner vision. The cobra is also symbolic of Lower Egypt. At times, the bottom of the eye has a small "Sa," symbolic of protection. It was a floatation device made of papyrus reeds, and was used in the same way as a life vest. The purpose of the Udjet amulet Eye is to empower the bearer with Divine protection, and inner vision.
